Dental Implants

Dental Implants

Our office has been placing implants since 1987. Dental implants are a popular and effective way to replace missing teeth and are designed to blend in with your other teeth. They are an excellent long-term option for restoring your smile.

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a “root” implant, usually made of titanium to support restorations that resemble a tooth or group of teeth to replace missing teeth. Virtually all dental implants are root form endosseous implants, they look like an actual tooth root and are placed within the bone. After several months of healing, the bone of the jaw typically accepts and integrates with the titanium post.

Dental implants are used to support a number of dental prosthesis including crowns, bridges, and dentures.

ICAT 3D Conebeam CT has allowed for 3D imaging of the bones and the teeth. This allows for the dentist to see in all dimensions the amount of bone, the quality of the bone, the available space, and path of placement for the implant. Prior to all implant surgeries a 3D scan is done to maximize the effectiveness of placement.
